Mary L. “Tincey” (Lytle) Dobson, 83 of Columbus, Ohio, went home to be with her Lord Saturday, August 14, 2010. She was born June 16, 1927 in Murfreesboro, TN and was a graduate of Holloway High School. Upon her graduation, Mary attended beauty school in Nashville and worked in a shop in Murfreesboro, TN. Mary met John Dobson and were married June 18, 1953. They moved to Columbus, OH where Mary worked in various shops until opening “Mary’s Beauty Cove”. Later, Mary gained employment with Columbus Public Schools. She worked in many schools as a teacher’s aide, the office, and as a school photographer. She retired from Arlington Park Elementary School. Mary and John were charter members of Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Columbus, OH. There, Mary served as an usher, on the Deaconess Board, was in charge of the food pantry, and in charge of the Senior Saints. She was a proud member of the Interdenominational Church Usher’s Association (ICUA). Mary was very creative with her photography, hat making, and quilting. She was in the quilting guild and made many quilts that placed at the Ohio State Fair. Mary was outgoing and loved to travel. She will be remembered for her nice and easy personality.
Preceeds in death by her son, Curtis Dobson; parents, Robert, Sr. and Mary Lytle; and brothers, Robert and Tommy Lytle. Mary leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 57 years, John; dear children, Sylvia D. (George) Brown and Wayne D. Dobson; 3 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends Friday, August 20, 2010 from 11:00am until the time of ICUA services at 12:15pm. Funeral services will begin at 12:30pm at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd., Columbus, OH, Reverend Charles W. Tatum, officiating. Interment in Northlawn Memory Gardens.
